Soft Phone Troubleshooting
If you have any problems or questions about Pingo or using Pingo Soft Phone, we encourage you to look here first. This section is designed to answer most questions you may have. If you still have unresolved issues after you have read through this page and the FAQ section, please contact customerservice@pingo.com.
If you see "Java Runtime is disabled" or "Java Runtime requires an upgrade" above in red please use the following links for help with your web browser's Java Runtime configuration.

• At the top menu of the browser click 'Tools' --> 'Internet Options...'
• Click the 'Advanced' tab.
• Scroll down until you see 'Java (Sun)' option.
• Click the check box labeled 'Use JRE 1.6_xx for applet (required restart)'
• Click the 'Apply' button.
• Click the 'OK' button.
• Close the browser.
• Restart the browser.
Enable Java or JavaScript in Firefox 2 & Firefox 3
• Using the top menu click 'Tools' --> 'Options...'
• Select the 'Content' tab then look for the check box labeled 'Enable Java'
• Click the check boxs labeled 'Enable JavaScript' and 'Enable Java'.
• Click the 'OK' button.
• Close the browser.
Enable Java in Internet Explorer 7
• On the right hand side click 'Tools' --> 'Internet Options'
• Click the 'Programs' tab then Click the 'Manage add-ons' button
• Using the 'Setting section in the lower left' set all 'Java Plug-in' entries from 'Disable' to 'Enable'
• When you see that 'Status' of the plug-ins listed to 'Enabled' click the 'OK' button
• Click 'OK' for the changes to take effect.
• Click 'Apply' then click 'OK'. Close the browser.
Upgrading Java from within Firefox 2
• Click the 'Get Started >>' button
• At the top right of the browser window click the 'Edit Options...' button
• In the 'Allow Sites' dialog window click the 'Allow' button.
• Then in the 'Allow Sites' dialog verify that www.pingo.com appears as a allowable site list and then click the 'Close' button.
• Close the browser window.
• Log back into Pingo
• Click the 'Get Started >>' button
• In the 'Software Installation' dialog window click 'Install Now'
• Firefox 2 will display the upgrade of Java dialog.
• Click the 'Typical setup' radio button
• Click the 'Accept >' button.
• The upgrade of Java will begin.
• Click the 'Finish' button to complete the installation.
• Close all open browser windows then log back into the Pingo website.
• Log back into Pingo and return to the Soft Phone start page and click the 'Get Started >>' button
• Accept the secure and verified '.::Pingo Soft Phone::.' , click the 'Run' button.
• Complete the 'Pingo Soft Phone' Audio Wizard setup.
• You are ready to start using the 'Pingo Soft Phone'
Upgrading Java from within Internet Explorer 6
• At the Pingo Soft Phone start page and click the 'Get Started >>' button
• Click the 'Install' button
• To start the Sun Java Setup click the 'Accept >' button.
• The upgrade of Java will begin.
• When the installer completes successfully click the 'Finish' button.
• Close the browser then log back into the Pingo website.
• Click the 'Get Started >>' button
• Complete the 'Pingo Soft Phone' Audio Wizard setup.
• You are ready to start using the 'Pingo Soft Phone'
Upgrading Java from within Internet Explorer 7
• Click the 'Get Started >>' button
• Click the 'Install' button
• To start the Sun Java Setup click the 'Accept >' button.
• The upgrade of Java will begin.
• When the installer completes successfully click the 'Finish' button.
• Close the browser then log back into the Pingo website.
• Click the 'Get Started >>' button
• To activate the plug-in 'Press SPACEBAR OR ENTER'
• Complete the 'Pingo Soft Phone' Audio Wizard setup.
• You are ready to start using the 'Pingo Soft Phone'
Install Java version 6 - Stand alone
• After downloading your copy of Java 1.6 or higher double click the EXE file.
• Click the 'Accept >' button
• The installation process will begin.
• When the installer completes successfully click the 'Finish' button.
Enable JavaScript in Internet Explorer 6
• At the top menu of the browser click 'Tools' --> 'Internet Options...'
• In the Internet Options window, select the Security tab (at the top of the window).
• Under the Security tab, select the Internet Web content zone.
• Under Security Level for this zone:
• If there is a slider bar move the slider bar to Medium. Otherwise, if the security level is Custom:
• Click on the Custom Level ... button at the bottom of the page to open the Security Settings window.
• In the Security Settings window scroll down until you get to the section called Scripting (near the bottom).
• Under Scripting there is a catagory Active scripting, select the option marked Enable for this catagory.
• Click the OK button.

• At the top menu of the browser click 'Tools' --> 'Internet Options...'
• In the Internet Options window, select the Security tab (at the top of the window).
• Under the Security tab, select the Internet Web content zone.
• Under Security Level for this zone:
• If there is a slider bar move the slider bar to Medium. Otherwise, if the security level is Custom:
• Click on the Custom Level ... button at the bottom of the page to open the Security Settings window.
• In the Security Settings window scroll down until you get to the section called Scripting (near the bottom).
• Under Scripting there is a catagory Active scripting, select the option marked Enable for this catagory.
• Click the OK button.
